Notecards are best way to study/cram content into your brain. I heard about Anki from a Derek Banas on youtube (here is the video).

Once of things I like about exporting to excel is the element of control. You can then move that content to other areas. For example, you can send the data to Powerpoint and then record custom timings on cards and play like a video (encode in mpeg4, loop back at the end, add narration, be timed, clickable maybe even voice-activated slide advance).
