I did a little test in GarageBand this morning. The goals was to see if I could quickly upload an audio file exported from the GarageBand iPad app. Below are some of the findings:
WordPress Media Library Maximum upload file size is 20Mb. These files were 9Mb or half the maximum allowable and, for what it’s worth, they were 5 minute tracks only had 3 tracks.
GarageBand default export file extension is .m4a
The file is sent via email although Soundcloud, iTunes, and YouTube are other options.
There are different file types to choose from uncompressed aiff 44.1khz 16 bit, highest quality (iTunes plus) 256Kbit, low 64Kbit, medium 128Kbit, high 192Kbit. What are the differences?
Windows media file plays the video on a windows laptop
Does it play on my android device?
Is it painful and worthwhile (ease, quality loss) to convert in Adobe Audition from .m4a to .mp3?
Can you export the actually GarageBand project file to reinsert later?
Ultimately I would like display two types of audio files related to GarageBand and the guitar: Rhythm Tracks and Results from Lead Guitar Practice with the ultimate goal of exporting a finalized legitimate song.
The Exported Tracks are below:
